TRADED YOUTH BIO
Jacksonville, Florida’s Traded Youth is living proof that rock & roll ain’t dead. Nirvana meets George Clinton after being bullied by Courtney Barnett. Noisy indie rock with jagged punk edges. Their infectious, signature sound and explosive live shows have captivated audiences and won fans all across the Southeast. Traded Youth maintains the belief of never just "giving a concert" but putting on a SHOW, packed with tons of heart and buckets of sweat. They just can't help it.
Traded Youth consist of Vocalist/Guitarist/Drummer Myles Joyner, Bassist/Vocalist/Keyboardist Leigh Thompson, and Drummer Andrew Bickford. The three have a natural synergy and thrive as individuals.
Traded Youth is one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the Jacksonville music scene since Red Jumpsuit Apparatus turned the city on end nearly ten years ago. The Youth really appreciates love, peace, and honesty. Their lyrics steer towards all age groups from high school teens to your grandparents, with their catchy hooks and candid verses.
Drawing inspiration from legendary bands like Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam as well as contemporary indie rockers Parquet Courts, Tame Impala and Fleet Foxes.
The band takes a big step forward with the recording of their new EP. The group released The "Sacrificed Time" EP on March 28, 2017 on the Chelsea Entertainment Group label. The EP gained over 8,000 Spotify streams in the first 3 weeks. Traded Youth is primed and poised to bring their musical movement to the eyes and ears of the masses. The songs are as diverse and introspective as they have ever recorded. Be on the lookout for Traded Youth touring in a city near you.
